Anahi
Anahí was born Anahí Giovanna Puente Portillo in Mexico City on
May 14, 1983. Mexico D.F., Mexico in May 14 1983. Born under the sign of Taurus,
Anahi is stable, and loves to be at home with her family. Her first TV performance
was for a Kid's show called "Chiquilladas," directed by César
"El pollo" González. Her
career did not take off until she debuted as a telenovela actress in the melodrama
Madres Egoístas. Notable parts in Muchachitas, Ángeles sin paraíso,
Alondra, Tu y yo, Mi pequeña traviesa, and Vivo por Elena soon followed,
but it was not until Primer amor... a mil por hora in 2000 that she was cast in
a leading role. She
entered the Mexican hit series Clase 406 in which she portrayed Jessica Riquelme.
In late 2003, she auditioned for the lead role in the telenovela Rubí,
role which Bárbara Mori ended up with. The following year, Anahí
was invited to star in the Mexican telenovela Rebelde (2004), where she portrayed
Mía Colucci. She signed a contract with EMI and integrating herself to
RBD, the musical spin-off of the telenovela Rebelde. After having joined RBD,
Anahí's fame grew rapidly signing endorsement deals with Herbal Essences,
Avon Cosmetics, and Andrea shoe ware. Anahí
has won awards such as Premio Ariel and Premios Juventud in recognition of her
acting skills. Anahí
considers fellow RBD band members Maite and Dulce her best friends. She thinks
of Christian, Christopher, and Alfonso as her brothers. Even though she is one
of the oldest of the group, she has stated that she, more than Dulce, acts like
the group's baby sister. |
